Look at me doing it on the right day for once!
In your own space, share your love for a trope, cliché, kink, motif, or theme. (More than one is okay, too.) Tell us about it, tell us why you love it, give us some examples and recs. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
If characterization and plot are the meat of fanfic, then tropes, cliches, and kinks are the frosting on the cake. Accidentally Married or Fake Relationship; Huddling For Warmth or Sex Pollen; Biting or Apocalypse. Everyone has their favorite ~something, the thing that has them clicking on a fic faster than you can say ‘Jack Robinson’ (though I don’t know why you would want to say Jack Robinson o_O).
What’s ~your bulletproof kink (or trope, etc), and why?
I really don't know very much about tropes - I think I've never been in a fandom big enough to play with that kind of thing very much. And there's certainly nothing of that kind that I go looking for - I just look for my favourite characters and favourite authors, and even then I'll give most things in my little fandoms a go.
So the best I can do is a kind of guilty weakness for... women taking charge, is as well as I can describe it. Not only in fic - some of my favourite parts of the M+C books are when Stephen has been tearing himself apart worrying if he's good enough or that everything is falling apart, and then Diana just walks in and tells him to get on with it, and for a while they do. And then there is my real guilty secret, which is Bush/Barbara...
So one of each - and they are both fairly smutty, which is unusual for me, but they say quite a bit about the characters as well.
On The Other Side of the Bulkhead - Stephen and Diana on the way home from Sweden
On Land and At Sea - Captain Bush is invited to Smallbridge
