(no subject)

I am annoyed with the clocks - a 7am flight is bad enough, but it's worse if time has shifted itself by an hour in the middle of the night.

I seem to have the start of an idiosyncratic list of things to see and do in Barcelona. It's the same things wherever I go anyway - maritime museums, old ships (there don't seem to be any in Barcelona), boat trips (not sure about these), cathedral towers, cable cars (although I secretly hate them), funicular railways, and anywhere that's good for walking around - I'm generally indifferent to art galleries, nightlife and various other tourist staples :)
So I think I'm going to ignore Eixample as being too big and too new, in spite of all its attractions and the fact that everyone will ask if I went to the Sagrada Familia, and just try to see a bit of the old town.

All my Spanish has escaped me - I can kind of read it (and Catalan), but I can't actually say anything. This is going to be interesting. I do have a phrasebook somewhere...
